Tech Incubator: Meeting User Services Needs Through Leadership Innovation
Over the course of the last 8 years, Stockton University has embraced a new method of meeting departmental and institutional needs. Employing a non-traditional approach to the concept of apprenticeships has allowed Stockton to develop several sophisticated, and sometimes simple, home-grown solutions that provide customizable functionality. In 2008, Demetrios Roubos (a fresh Computer Science and Information Systems graduate) began pushing the forefront at Stockton, fostering and developing several home-grown solutions including IMS (Integrated Management System- used for issue tracking, asset management, and remote control/support), a turn-style based Event Management System (supplying institutional metrics related to event attendance), and NetReg (a system whereby residential students can register their gaming/streaming devices for use on the University network). During the webinar, Demetrios will revisit the origins of this practice, the impact it has had on students, and the impact these systems have had on the institution (creating a dynamic, data-driven end-user culture). Please join us on October 26th to learn more about how thinking out of the box has shaped, and changed user services at Stockton University.
