While it is true that without memory, history and tradition, it would be impossible to exercise the architectural project and its built reality, we can not ensure the validity today of the classic statement that only it can be projected from memory. Indeed, memory is a very important part of the project mechanism, but without innovation, research and look to the future architecture could hardly navigate this increasingly global society.
After nearly a century of Modern Movement, there have been many people who got off that boat for years, looking for just the fracture with memory to establish their own research paths in the search for new solutions to help understand the complexity of the world we are creating. The world accelerates faster and faster, and in a few decades we are witnessing the testing of multiple new ways, often successful, sometimes unsuccessful.
During the months of September and October 2015 workshops were held in different Camacol regionals , framed in the Camacol Innova 2020, with which it seeks to create a culture of innovation in the construction sector project. In Cali, the appointment was in the Dann Carlton Hotel, on September 15th, with the participation of 35 entrepreneurs from the construction sector of Valle del Cauca.
These sessions were guided by Juan Carlos León, Manager of Technology Development Corporation (CDT) of the Chilean Chamber of Construction, who addressed issues of great impact for the sector as innovation management, materials and supplies, building systems and equipment, and sustainable construction, which allowed to develop a regional roadmap that included the prioritization of initiatives and the rating of impact and feasibility of them.
Making the construction sector enter to the pages that define the strategic plan of R & D + I, and receive the resources that leverage the research and development of innovative projects, is one of the major challenges for the coming years. To achieve this, it is essential the contribution of all players in the value chain of construction, with a view to jointly build a document in which the ideas and needs of the sector are placed to advance on this front.
