What is the TG Annual Training Conference?

The TG Annual Training Conference is a premier industry training event that helps student services professionals, financial aid administrators, and community partners maximize their industry knowledge and improve financial aid services for their families and students.

The TG Conference Agenda is tailored to provide value to a range of audiences beyond the traditional financial aid professional focus, including higher education student services professionals, high-school, middle-school, and financial counselors, and employees of nonprofit organizations. The TG Annual Training Conference is geared to serve these professionals as they share TG's passion for helping students and families attain their educational and career goals.

What type of training is provided at the TG Annual Training Conference?

Training sessions are divided into educational tracks based on target audience and area of interest. The agenda provides registration options designed to meet both training needs and travel budgets, whether registrants can attend one day, two days, or take advantage of the full three-day agenda. The cost to attend is $175 or less, depending on registration options. Registration fees are waived for high-school and middle-school counselors.

Attendees can mix and match topics with concurrent sessions in various learning tracks, including:

  • Policy and Regulatory Guidance;
  • Default Aversion Strategies;
  • Financial Literacy Strategies;
  • College Access and Success; and
  • Professional Development.

Note also:

The TG Financial Literacy Program is Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) approved to be used to teach Texas students basic skills and concepts of money management. Graduates of TG Train-the-Trainer classes are eligible to teach these topics and to use free financial literacy materials provided by TG in their classes. 

TG Conference participants who are Accredited Financial Counselors (AFCs) can also qualify for four continuing education units (CEUs) from the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education (AFCPE), per TG Conference day.
