THE 15TH AESTHETIC MEDICINE CONGRESS OF SOUTH AFRICA (AMCSA 2020)

Finally, we can meet together again for another wonderful AMCSA congress. This year has been a really challenging year for many people, companies, events and more. Over the years the AMCSA has become so part of the industry where all the doctors and trade involved have not only come together to learn, but also for important discussions, interactions and supporting each other. The idea of missing out this year on such an important gathering has motivated the organizing committee to work towards creating an exceptionally safe event to still offer this important educational and networking opportunity to all involved.

The CSIR ICC has become our choice of location over the years due to their good location, ideal venue capacities and exceptional service (and their good food!). This year we notice that this are not their only good points, but the safety and security of everyone is of utmost importance for the CSIR. Their guidelines and strict regulations of safety in this difficult period has given us the assurance we needed for hosting a safe event for all. Therefore, we feel very confident to welcome you all to a secure environment with strict sanitary guidelines to ensure the safety of our doctors, trade, staff and the staff of the CSIR ICC.

Our program this year is filled with high quality speakers that have worked very hard at preparing a very educational program to ensure that we are connected and updated with all the latest updates, research and skills from around the globe. The program includes a scientific theoretical part which will highlight all the latest knowledge we need to ensure effective and safe treatments for patients in an aesthetic medical practice, this part will be complimented with the scientific practical part which is the Practical Skills Symposium. Here experts will show with live demonstrations how to perform safe treatments for higher patient and physician satisfaction. The scientific theoretical and practical parts also give doctors CPD accredited education in the industry most appropriate to their practices.

The main purpose and focus have remained the same since the start of the 1st congress and that is to bring high quality & international standard education to Southern Africa for the medical profession.  The congress organizing committee collaborates with international meetings to ensure that the standard of scientific and practical education in the field of aesthetic medicine remains up to date and relevant to the fast-growing pace world-wide.  

We also have really practical trade workshops running parallel to the scientific program. In the past it has always been difficult to choose between 2 high quality sessions running parallel, now this year one can watch all the sessions or workshops missed on the online platform.

The AMCSA has decided to focus on the live congress and make it available online for 3 months following the congress. Virtual events have become very popular, but also tiring to watch session after session live behind a screen all day. This online platform will give doctors the opportunity to watch the sessions they missed at their own convenient time over the following 3 months. This will ensure that all sessions receive maximum exposure.

The online platform not only features the program sessions, but also our trade involved. Here delegates can find all the exhibiting companies, their products, their workshops and their details for the whole period.

There are also those not feeling comfortable with attending a live event, and these doctors would be able to register 2 weeks after the congress to have access to the online platform with all the sessions of the program as well as the exhibitors details and their workshops.

Our good collaboration with the AAMSSA (Aesthetic & Anti-aging Medicine Society of  South Africa) has been strengthened since last year with a more potent working relationship, especially with regards to the program contents. Our scientific committee is again  reinforced by members of the AAMSSA to ensure that the program remains relevant, high quality and scientific.

The AMCSA 2020 live congress and online platform will ensure to address the needs of doctors in this industry to enhance their scientific as well as practical skills.
