Join educators at the all-new 2016–2017 Leader in Me Symposium.
Together, we are transforming paradigms in education by empowering
elementary and middle-school students to model 21st-century leadership
skills in order to achieve their full potential.
The Leader in Me Symposium is the most influential and
inspiring event series for educators in North America. This year we have
increased the Symposium series to 30 events in order to accommodate and
inspire more than 9,000 educators. New enhancements have been made to
the featured sessions, school tours, and networking experience. In
addition, participants can now attend either the full two-day or a
condensed one- day version of Symposium.

Keynote Speaker: Muriel Summers
As principal of A.B. Combs Leadership Magnet Elementary School,
Muriel Summers and her staff created the first leadership elementary
school in the nation using FranklinCovey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People as a foundation. Muriel’s school has been featured on several national television programs including PBS, Good Morning America, and The Oprah Winfrey Show. A.B. Combs is also featured in Dr. Stephen Covey’s books The 8th Habit and The Leader in Me.
During her tenure at A.B. Combs, Muriel has earned numerous awards for
her school, including the National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, the
Number One National Magnet School in America, twice the National Title 1
Distinguished School, the National Elementary School of the Year, the
North Carolina Honor School of Excellence, the North Carolina Governor’s
Entrepreneurial Award, and the National School of Character Award.
