Questions & Answers

Question: If I am a member of another state chapter of the AAFP, can I register at the NCAFP | AAFP Member Rate?
Answer:

Yes. If you are a member of another state chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians, you should register at the NCAFP | AAFP Member rate.

Question: Is there a Day Rate?
Answer: Can't get away for the entire time? Join us on the day you can! One-Day Registrations are just $200 per day*! *Note: You may not add additional days to a One Day registration. If you plan to attend more than one day, you will need to register at the full conference rate for your registration type. Exception: If you are attending the KSA Study Working Group on Wednesday, you may register for the Thursday One Day.
Question: I am paying with a check. Where should I send my payment?
Answer:

Attendees & Exhibitors: If you are mailing a check for payment, please make your check payable to the NC Academy of Family Physicians.  Mail it to NCAFP, 2501 Blue Ridge Road, Suite 120, Raleigh, NC 27607. You will receive an email to confirm receipt of your payment when your check is received.

Question: How do I earn CME Credit?
Answer: CME Credits are earned based on your participation. After every CME session, workshop, or seminar that you attend, you will complete a Get CME Evaluation Survey via the mobile conference app. For each session evaluated, CME credit is awarded to your registration profile. At the end of the conference, the mobile app will generate a personalized Certificate of Attendance based on the the courses/sessions you attended and evaluated. Each session along with the awarded credit will be listed. The bottom of the certificate will include the total CME hours earned by your participation in the conference.
Question: If I am a member, will the NCAFP file the CME credits earned with the American Academy of Family Physicians for me?
Answer: Yes. If you are a member of the AAFP, the NCAFP will file your CE Credits for you post-conference. Please be certain to include your correct AAFP ID number in the registration process to avoid any accrediting errors.
Question: I am not a member of the AAFP. How do I claim CME credit for my participation?
Answer: Please check with your accrediting body in advance to determine how the AAFP's Prescribed Credits / AMA PRA Category 1 credits are counted towards your education requirements. You will also need to self-report your credits earned. The NCAFP only files credits earned with the AAFP.
Question: Will there be a paper syllabus?
Answer:

No. A paper syllabus will not be provided. Attendees are encouraged to follow along with the CME lectures via the app. Please plan accordingly and remember to bring your mobile device or laptop and your chargers. Complimentary wifi and access to electrical outlets will be provided in the main lecture hall. Attendees will receive login credentials and instructions for accessing the mobile app approximately one week before the conference.

Question: I like using paper to take notes. What should I do if I do not plan to use the mobile conference app?
Answer: If you prefer to have a printed paper copy of the General Session lectures, a PDF Link to the lectures will be emailed to you prior to the conference for personal self-printing. Complimentary printed handouts will be provided for various Optional CME Workshops & Seminars.
Question: I have never used the mobile conference app or conference web link. Is it user-friendly?
Answer:

Yes! You will love using the mobile conference app. We receive great feedback and compliments each year from our app-users. The conference app (also accessible via a web link on your laptop) has been carefully designed to further enhance your conference experience. And, it is packed with a lot of extra helpful conference information that you will find useful before, during, and after the event. We HIGHLY encourage you to familiarize yourself with the app before you arrive to the conference.  Visit this link for a quick overview of its features.

Question: If the block of rooms at the Grove Park Inn is sold out, will you be adding more rooms to the block?
Answer:

Great question! The NCAFP has successfully already negotiated the largest block of sleeping rooms possible. We have contracted and blocked over 80% (approx. 410 sleeping rooms) of the GPI's total available sleeping rooms over our conference dates and there are no additional rooms available to add to our block. Make your reservations early ... the GPI itself will sell out in its entirety before September.

Question: Is childcare provided during this event?
Answer:

Unfortunately, due to the size and logistics for this event, we do not offer childcare during the conference. Please contact the Grove Park Inn directly to inquire about available childcare services with certified providers -   800-438-5800.

Question: How do I register my spouse or a guest?
Answer:

Spouses and Guests may be added during your online conference registration for $140 per person. This is a one-time fee that includes admission to Friday's State of the Academy Award Lunch and Saturday's Presidential Gala & Dinner. Only Registered Spouses/Guests will receive a conference name badge. A name badge is required for access to the lecture hall and the exhibit hall. Spouses & Guests may not claim CME credits. Spouses & Guests may not attend optional complimentary satellite programs or CME seminars and workshops.

Question: My spouse or guest cannot attend both the Awards Lunch and the Presidential Gala. Can I purchase a guest ticket to these events instead of paying the guest registration fee?
Answer:

Yes! If you are not registering your spouse or guest, you may still purchase individual tickets for them to attend Friday's State of the Academy Lunch or Saturday's Presidential Gala in the Optional Items Section during your online registration.

Question: What is the recommended attire for the Presidential Gala?
Answer:

Come dressed in your holiday best and be sure to wear your dancing shoes!

Question: How do I make changes or updates to my registration?
Answer:

Answer:

You do not have to be a conference attendee to participate in the ceremony and friends and family are welcome to join you.
