Continuing Education is in the form of the following: credits, contact hours and clock hours.
Up to 49.5* continuing education credits/contact hours/clock hours may be earned by attending the San Diego International Conference Saturday & Sunday institutes and workshop sessions.
Preconference Institutes: 7.0 to 14.0 hours, may be earned by attendance at the Sunday and Monday institutes. Conference Sessions: 28.5 hours, may be earned by attendance to the Conference sessions. Each attendee may claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spends in the educational activity.
Registrants may earn continuing education credits, contact hours and clock hours for specific professional disciplines (AAFP, AAP, BRN, CCAPP, CME, AAPA, MCLE, MOC Part 2, NASW) by completing the online registration and continuing education fee online here. For onsite payment, visit the Onsite Registration table and pay $100. If you wish to obtain continuing education credits for Preconference Trainings only, the cost is $30/per day.
Continuing education certificates will be emailed after the completion of the online evaluation (www.sandiegoconference.org). Allow up to 8 weeks to receive the certificate by email. Records will be kept on file for six (6) years.
Attendees are responsible for reporting the hours to his/her accrediting agency. Each attendee may only claim hours actually spent in an education activity. NOTE: Many state boards accept offerings accredited by national or other state organizations.

Agencies Providing Continuing Education
American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) – PENDING APPROVAL-This Live activity, 35th Annual San Diego International Conference on Child and Family Maltreatment, with a beginning date of 01/25/2020, has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 49.5 Prescribed credit(s) by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) – PENDING APPROVAL- This continuing medical education activity has been reviewed by the American Academy of Pediatrics and is acceptable for a maximum of 49.5 AAP credits. These credits can be applied toward the AAP CME/CPD Award available to Fellows and Candidate Members of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) - The Chadwick Center is an approved provider of continuing education for the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider # CEP 14264. Nurses may claim up to 49.5* contact hours.
California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) – Course meets the qualifications for 49.5* hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Provider approved by CEPA, Provider # 75651.

MOC Part 2
“Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the activity, with individual assessments of the participant and feedback to the participant, enables the participant to earn 28.5 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.” Note: Attendees will be required to complete a post test with a standard passing of 70% within 1 week after the conference in order to receive the ABP MOC 2 Points.
Cultural and Linguistic Competency Statement: This activity is in compliance with California Assembly Bill 1195 which requires continuing medical education activities with patient care components to include curriculum in the subjects of cultural and linguistic competency. Cultural competency is defined as a set of integrated attitudes, knowledge, and skills that enables health care professionals or organizations to care effectively for patients from diverse cultures, groups, and communities. Linguistic competency is defined as the ability of a physician or surgeon to provide patients who do not speak English or who have limited ability to speak English, direct communication in the patient’s primary language. Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) – The Chadwick Center is a State Bar of California approved Mandatory Continuing Legal Education provider in the amount of up to 49.5* hours, Provider #1255.
National Association of Social Workers (NASW) – PENDING APPROVAL-This program is Approved by the National Association of Social Workers (Approval # 886503834-5492) for 28.0** continuing education contact hours.

The following states do not accept National CE Approval Programs and require individual program/provider application processes:
South Bay Regional Public Safety Training is a publicly funded governmental agency created through a joint powers contract with seven Community College Districts. Each California attendee, who completes an application at the time of registration, will receive ½ unit of transcript college credit with Hartnell College, Salinas, CA. No enrollment fee for this credit. Monterey Peninsula College is fully accredited through the Western Association of Colleges and units earned are usually applicable toward a degree.
