Why Attend?

We are delighted to announce an intermediate level course for 2019, which is open to anyone who has completed our introductory workshop or has received similar training elsewhere.

In this workshop, the Technique’s principles have been adapted to the movements a mammographer makes, to help you respond in a more balanced and healthy way to the demands of your profession. Entirely practical, this workshop is for those who have attended the introductory workshop (or similar) and thus have some prior experience of the Alexander Technique, and would now like to enhance it practically. The practical aspect of this course is designed to give participants the opportunity to explore their individual use of their body through role-play and simulation.

Participants will gain the following from this course:

  • Identify your own individual points of strain and excessive tension in the movements you make at work while the group context provides valuable opportunity to observe colleagues engaging in the same movements
  • You will be guided through verbal and physical instructions into learning to adopt a more efficient working posture
  • Have the opportunity to make real progress in your understanding of how to change patterns of motor and postural behaviour for better support and use of your body.
