During this one-day workshop photographers will learn how to balance natural light with high-end studio strobes and off camera shoe strobes. The importance of light modifiers, such as reflectors will also be demonstrated. Paul will review how to best utilize basic camera settings, including ISO, aperture and shutter speed. This hands-on workshop will take place at the Berks County Recreation Center with live models on-site for students to photograph. By the end of this workshop, students will know how to create moods with light to enhance the look of their photography. About the Instructor J. Paul Simeone is a Creative, award-winning photographer has been nominated for the prestigious Sinar Bron Advertising Photographer of the Year Award and is the recipient of several Addy Awards. Owns and operates foremost state-of-the-art photographic studio in the Mid-Atlantic region. During a 35-year career, expanded the client base to include Fortune 100 companies, fashion and upscale boutiques, dignitaries, entertainers, museums and the arts, restaurants, pharmaceuticals and recognized collectibles industry leaders– representing diverse product lines, marketing strategies and techniques. Exclusively chosen to capture the first millennium sunrise on Pitt Island, New Zealand. Paul masterfully interprets the art director’s visions to create images that sell; whether they represent elegant Christian Dior fashions, mouthwatering culinary creations, exquisite jewels or agricultural products. He was hired by Devon Direct/Euro RSCG to photograph the official First Sunrise of the Millennium and to use the first rays of the sun to expose the companyʼs slogan, “Be First”, into limited edition photographs. The shoot was conducted on Pitt Island, New Zealand. Paul teaches courses in studio lighting at the University of the Arts and Drexel University. He has also created an historically significant and unrivaled limited edition collection of fine art prints memorializing Rock and Roll legends of the 60s and 70s including: Jimmy Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Crosby, Stills and Nash, The Who, Blood Sweat and Tears, The Grateful Dead.
