The Project Management Toolkit: Improving Your Chances of Success

This session prepares you for traversing the full project life cycle, providing you the tools and techniques for consistently successful outcomes. Using the Project Management Institute’s framework/body of knowledge to design your project’s toolkit, you will be well prepared to manage every project regardless of size or complexity.

You will:
• Dive into the details of planning to include staffing, communicating, monitoring and managing to ensure stakeholder alignment and team work.
• Create a clear and concise project plan for execution that will serve as the guiding rules, directions and steering for the project.
• Identify project risks and sound strategies for risk mitigation, developing a tracking mechanism for potential pitfalls or opportunities on the project and committing people to actions that will prevent risks from turning into issues.
• Develop the art of breaking down all activities into manageable tasks with a scheduled start and end date, creating a critical path to project success.
• Build a fundamental budget, using the right methodology detailed estimating, tracking and monitoring all costs and change control.
• Determine the best approach to a communication plan that includes call, meetings and reports, planning out the when, what, and to whom of project updates – and checking the effectiveness of the communications.
