The FDA approved an innovative three-dimensional digital mammography system in February 2011 that shows measurable improvement in clinical performance over conventional two-dimensional mammography. This new technology, called Breast Tomosynthesis, is expected to detect more cancers while resulting in fewer unnecessary diagnostic imaging studies and procedures. The FDA mandated that radiologists wishing to use the technology receive eight hours of case-based training in Tomosynthesis interpretation.
The workshop, presented by World Class CME, features an eight-hour comprehensive training program in Breast Tomosynthesis.
Participants will receive individual instruction in Tomosynthesis interpretation by expert faculty, Drs. Elizabeth Rafferty and Phoebe Freer, at their own clinical workstations while reviewing over 100 clinical Tomosynthesis data sets with accompanying standard mammography. The course will not only fulfill the FDA training requirement, but will also provide a unique opportunity to assess the potential impact Tomosynthesis could have for a physician’s practice.

This meeting is supported by an unrestricted educational grant from Hologic, Inc.
