Toss Your Hat in the Ring is a two-hour interactive session designed to help you become involved in local government - your borough, township, or school district - by seeking elected or appointed office. The workshop includes an introduction to the structure and purpose of Pennsylvania local government, a look at the duties of local officials, and an overview of elected and appointed positions. We'll also provide a guided tour of the mechanics of candidacy: eligibility, petitions, financial reports, rules and regulations. The workshop winds up with a lively discussion with a panel of local officials who will share their experiences and answer your questions.
