Driving Your Success in Travel & Hospitality

Executive women in these industries continue to evolve as it relates to their professional life, however, there is still a wide gap between the number of males and females who occupy the top spots at companies, boardrooms and conferences.

This conference will bring together all that are passionate about travel, tourism and hospitality as well as some of the most respected top executives who come with a willingness to provide knowledge and guidance for women wanting to improve their status, grow their companies and ultimately excel. Speakers will provide insight in order to optimize professional performance, leadership abilities which will result in furthering their careers as well as accelerating growth to an optimum level.

They will come from all over the globe and come with their perspective, their ideas, their knowledge, their expertise, their dreams and their aspirations as it relates to their part of the world. Our United Nations-like conference attendees will not soon forget these few days in Southern California as education is imparted and learned, networks are widened, friendships and partnerships are crafted and passions are enlightened to drive new successes for the future women of this industry.

Panel Sessions

Women Leaders in the Boardroom
The importance of women’s participation on boards in today’s travel & hospitality sector as well as in general, is making an impact on today’s global companies.  This panel will discuss the trends and opportunities as well as what makes board members successful contributors to the organizations they participate in or entrepreneurs who run their own show. Knowing the important questions to ask before committing to serve on a board or to start your own company are crucial to the success of the venture.

As businesses look for ways to manage the impact of rising health costs, many are investing more in workplace wellness. How do you create more wellness inside and outside the workplace? With an ever increasing busy home life and work schedule, women now more than ever, need reliable and sustainable stress releasing tools that are realistic and easy to implement. Too much stress, along with unhealthy coping mechanisms can wreak havoc on your career, finances, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Our panel members will discuss what wellness means to them and how they implement a holistic approach through healthy eating, exercise, and mindful based stress reduction.
The Changing Landscape of Communications
Communication 2014 and beyond requires an intense knowledge of technology as well as guiding principles we all learned in school. Identifying the core principles of effective communication and the tools available today will aid in achieving best communication practices.

How do you intelligently use social media platforms to build a strong online community, utilize your online network, engage your customers in real time, and showcase your professional expertise? The panel will discuss various modes of communication and how these modes impact effective communication in the workplace and in general as well as recognizing your own personal style of communication, and how this impacts your ability to communicate effectively in the workplace.

Women and Finance
According to the most recent Financial Literacy Survey, conducted by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling, 4 out of 10 adults would give themselves a grade of C, D or F when it comes to their personal financial knowledge. With so much free information available to us there should be no excuse, yet many of us prefer to remain in the dark when it comes to discussing our finances. Even companies like American Express, Carlson, and Wyndham offer women-specific programs for finance and special travel programs. Today our panel of experts will bring some fun to your finances and show you ways to maximize your financial potential. You are sure to walk away feeling empowered and ready to embrace financial abundance.

Women in Technology
Did you know that women make up less than one-third of all employees in the technology sector? Although this number is changing--thanks to the greater awareness of women in technology like Facebook COO, Sheryl Sandberg, Yahoo CEO, Marissa Mayer, Xerox Chair, Ursula Burns, and IBM VP, Sandy Carter. We still have a long way to go. Thanks to the greater awareness of these strong (and inspiring) executives more women are attracted to technology jobs. As we know the Travel and Hospitality industry would not survive without strong technology. Our panel members discuss growth and new opportunities in technology as it relates to travel and hospitality.

Advance women in travel and hospitality from the classroom to the boardroom. Who doesn’t love looking fabulous at work? Yes, investing in your wardrobe is great, but how about your mind? Your personal knowledge and your ability to apply it are your most valuable assets. Personal and Professional development is key to increasing your earning power. Discover how you can advance your career through an abundant array of continuing education opportunities. Our panel members discuss why continuing education is so important in the ever-changing travel and hospitality market. You will learn where to find fun and affordable educational opportunities.
