AFP of Greater Detroit is offering a two-day, intensive review of fundraising concepts, skills and techniques based on fundraising experience at the five-year level. The course is intended for intermediate-level fundraising professionals who want a quick and comprehensive overview of fundraising principles at a step above the fundamental level.

The AFP CFRE Review Course is presented through lecture, case studies, and the engagement of participant dialogue. Individuals are not required to take the CFRE Certification Exam after the course. All participants will receive a manual of review materials.

The AFP CFRE Review Course consists of an introductory module and nine content modules.

Course Modules:

  • Introduction to the CFRE Review Course
  • Module I: Why Philanthropy?
  • Module II: Current & Prospective Donor Research
  • Module III: Marketing & Communications for Fundraising & Development
  • Module IV: Developing a Comprehensive Solicitation Program
  • Module V: Building & Sustaining Relationships
  • Module VI: Securing the Gift
  • Module VII: Volunteer Involvement
  • Module VIII: Management
  • Module IX: Accountability

Participation in the AFP CFRE Review Course may assist you in learning or reviewing concepts covered on the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) examination, as detailed on the Test Content Outline provided by CFRE International. However, the AFP CFRE Review Course is not designed specifically as a prep course for the exam. It is designed to provide a review of concepts one should know at the five-year experience level.

AFP highly recommends that the review course be just one of the resources you use in preparing to take the CFRE exam.  Your study should be supplemented by reading books that appear on the CFRE Resource Reading List available at www.cfre.org.

Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.

$399 AFP Member; $499 Non- AFP member
Cancellation Policy: Cancellation requests must be sent in writing by June 30 to receive a refund.
