U.S.-Japan Cooperative Medical Sciences Program (USJCMSP) 20th International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases in the Pacific Rim

Focus: The focus of this conference is on the pathogenesis and protective immunity of viral diseases of importance in the Asia-Pacific region.

Objectives: The objectives of this conference are to share current research findings and foster existing and potential international research collaborations that engage investigators and institutions in the Asia-Pacific region and the United States.

Scientific Agenda: The scientific program has been developed by an international scientific planning committee associated with AIDS, Acute Respiratory Infections, Cancer, Hepatitis, Immunology and Viral Diseases Panels of the Cooperative Medical Sciences Program and with the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shenzhen Third People’s Hospital.

Participants: The invited participants include researchers of all levels, government and public officials, and representatives from academia and other public and private institutions. Participants are primarily from countries within the Pacific Rim region, including Japan and the United States.

Sponsors: In part, under the framework of the U.S.-Japan Cooperative Medical Sciences Program (CMSP), the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Japanese Ministries of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) and Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), and the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) will be co-sponsoring this conference. The Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMCAS) and Shenzhen Third People’s Hospital will be the local hosts and also co-sponsors of this conference.

Abstract Submission: Scientists interested in speaking or presenting a poster at this conference should submit an abstract through this website. During the registration process, you will have the opportunity to upload an abstract. Abstracts received before the submission deadline (Friday, November 24, 2017 at 11:59 PM EDT) will be peer reviewed and, based on merit, some individuals submitting abstracts will be invited to prepare an oral or poster presentation. Applicants will be notified of acceptance via email by Friday, December 1, 2017.
