Sinclair Workforce Development, in cooperation with Riverside Research, is pleased to present Unmanned Aerial Systems Airspace Applications, through its UAS Training & Certification Center. Certificates of Authorization and Special Airworthiness Certificates are requirements to operate UAS in the National Airspace System. This course provides the background on the application and execution procedures for both processes. Attendees will develop a sample application during the course. (Two days)
What participants will come away with:
Operating UAS in the National Airspace (NAS) is a major concern as well as area of research emphasis. Understanding the role of Special Use Airspace within the NAS, and how submitting successful Airspace Applications are critical to the planning, operating and safety of all UAS flights. This course will inform students on what airspace is involved as well as the proper application to the FAA to conduct UAS operations.
- Know the difference categories of airspace within the National Airspace (NAS).- Describe how your UAS will operate within the NAS.- Complete a draft of either the Certificate of Authorization or Airworthiness Certificate application for the operation of your choice. (Participants come away with a physical draft of a COA or SAC for either a generic vehicle OR their specific vehicle.)
