The NCAPA, in collaboration with the Campbell University PA Program, is pleased to offer this half-day Ultrasound course which will provide an overview of broadly useful exams, including FAST (Focused Assessment with Sonography in Trauma), Basic Cardiac and Abdominal Aorta Scanning. Attendees will receive didactic instruction on the fundamentals of POCUS, followed by small-group, hands-on sessions with live models and a high-fidelity ultrasound simulators.
Learning Outcome: At the conclusion of this activity the learner should understand the application of ultrasound as a diagnostic modality in the identification of common medical conditions.
Objectives
Learners will receive didactic instruction and hands-on practice in the following:
Basic ultrasound physics, machine operation and probe selection
The FAST (Focused Assessment with Sonography in Trauma) exam
The Abdominal Aorta ultrasound exam

Accreditation PAs: The NCAPA plans to apply for 3 AAPA Category 1 CME credits from the PA Review Panel. The number of credits is yet to be determined.
Nurse Practitioners: Credits awarded by the AAPA are accepted by the ANCC Certification Program and the AANP as Continuing Education (CE) credits for nurses and nurse practitioners.
