Decision-making is an integral part of all organizations. How leaders apply decision-making processes has a significant impact on all areas of an organization. This one-and-a-half hour presentation engages you in discussion and discovery of the impact of the inherent “natural human process” of unconscious bias. Through a bit of fun, practice, and open and honest dialogue, this session provides a framework that allows individuals to access another level of thinking, to apply decision-making models, and to develop effective ways to mitigate unconscious bias in the decision-making process. This interactive class provides you the awareness to recognize actions and behaviors that can be adapted and applied to the work you do with others and the various customers you serve. Session objectives: • Define and discuss the term unconscious bias and associated terms • Explore how unconscious bias impacts the everyday work experience with peers, policyholders, injured workers, and business partners • Identify strategies that help address unconscious bias in the decision-making process and result in providing superior, culturally responsive customer service
