Understanding and Working with Residents with Dementia (C, H) new!

Training Description

Residents can experience varying forms of dementia which can impact their tenancies in different ways.  This interactive training will walk participants through several dementia related modules beginning with an overview of the different forms and symptoms of dementia.  Participants will then focus on effective communication strategies, understanding dementia related behaviors and safety planning.  Finally, participants will leave with an understanding of abuse, neglect and self-neglect as well as resources available in the community.  This course fulfills the HUD RSC training requirement under the subject area – Strategies for Dealing with Cognitive Impairments.
