Registration for congregational delegations will close on Tuesday, October 10th and all delegation members will receive the early bird registration rate. If your congregation then qualifies for a lower group rate, we'll refund the difference in the form of a VISA gift card to delegation members when they register on-site. All other URJ refund rules apply for Biennial registration.
Boston residents who live within 50 miles of the Hynes Convention Center are not subject to the $200 supplement required of registrants who choose not to stay in one of the URJ confirmed hotels.
*Reduced registration rates apply to the following groups: young adults (ages 18-36), active duty armed forces, current HUC-JIR students, high school students, members of World Union for Progressive Judaism congregations traveling from outside North America, and retired rabbis and cantors. While individuals high-school age and above count toward the delegation number, group pricing applies to those who have not already received special reduced pricing because of their age or because they are retired clergy or active military etc.
**Registrants who are not members of URJ congregations will be charged an additional $200 fee.
Canadian registrants pay "on par" for Biennial. Pricing for Canadians will automatically be adjusted by 22.5% to account for the exchange rate and credit card fee on the final summary page of registration.
Block Hotel Rooms
We have three official Biennial hotels: Sheraton Boston, Marriott Copley, and Westin Copley. Rooms at the hotels range from $210 to $220 plus tax per night. Biennial pricing is based on a number of factors including the number of hotel rooms filled at the official Biennial hotels. To keep registration costs down, it's important for attendees to stay at one of the Biennial hotels.
In recent years, an increasing number of attendees have chosen to stay at non-Biennial hotels, which impacts our agreements with our contracted hotels and raises registration fees; therefore, the URJ has instituted a policy, like many major conferences, where attendees staying at the hotel save $200 over attendees staying elsewhere. Attendees who do not book a hotel room at one of the Biennial hotels will be charged an additional $200 registration fee on or after December 15, 2017. The deadline to book a hotel reservation is November 13, 2017. If attendees book housing in the official URJ Biennial housing block and later cancel their reservation, the additional $200 registration fee will be automatically charged. (For registrants attending only Wednesday-Friday or Friday-Sunday, the additional fee for not registering in the housing block will be $100.)
