This five-week online course focuses on helping you enhance the use of mind-body medicine and relaxation response techniques in your clinical practice, including evidence-based skill in meditation, yoga, and tai chi.
When you guide patients towards effective prevention and treatment choices known to reduce allostatic load, it improves outcomes in the short-term and lowers the long-term prevalence of diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, pain and fatigue syndromes, and mood disorders. In this course, expert faculty from the Benson-Henry Institute of Mind-Body Medicine provide instruction on the use of core meditation methods to elicit the relaxation response and help patients decrease stress and enhance well-being. You'll develop enhanced clinical skills to identify treatment options based upon interactions and find guidance to help you identify the process of building a meditation practice. You'll also get an enhanced understanding of the benefits of contemplation and empathy as a means to enhance resiliency, prevent provider burnout and increase patient compliance.
Refunds will be issued for cancellation requests made during the first week of the course, but an administrative fee of $25.00 will be deducted from your refund. Cancellation requests made during the second week will receive a credit toward a future offering of the same course. No refunds or credits will be granted after November 21, 2016.
