Conference participants will become empowered by becoming more aware of adverse childhood experiences and their impact on learning. Sessions include topics such as understanding adverse childhood experiences; supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs; culturally responsive practices; and use of technology in the classroom. Learn with your colleagues in a stimulating and entertaining environment!

New this year, Afternoon with the Authors is a free pre-conference panel discussion and author talk at the Library of Virginia.  In addition to being introduced to publications that promote best practices and practical application, you will also be made aware of the mission, vision, goals, and offerings of the Library of Virginia. The first 50 attendees will receive a tour of the Library. Featured books will be available for purchase. The Library of Virginia is located at 800 E. Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23219.  It is within walking distance (3 blocks) of the conference hotel, The Richmond Marriott Downtown.

Again this year, the VEA will be going GREEN; this will be a paperless event. Attendees will receive a link to the electronic app prior to the event.
