Meeting Format:
The format will include scientific talks, breakout sessions, and a poster session. Deadline for abstract submission for the poster session is June 16, 2017.

Scientific Content and Purpose:
The 2017 Vector-borne Viruses Symposium will bring together leading researchers in the areas of arbovirus pathogenesis, vaccine development, surveillance and control, and highlight the status and research needs for high-profile emerging arboviruses including Zika virus. Organized by the Division of Intramural Research, NIAID, NIH, this meeting provides an opportunity to present cutting-edge research on the detection, prevention, and control of vector-borne viruses. The purpose of this conference is to facilitate discussion among experts from diverse disciplines within the arbovirus community, with the common goal of improving treatment, prevention, and response to emerging vector-borne diseases.

The conference includes a diverse group of scientists at senior and junior levels. Seminars and posters at the conference will provide an opportunity for the presentations of research finding and exchanges of ideas.

Keynote Address:
Tom Monath, Chief Scientific and Chief Operations Officer at BioProtection Systems Corporation, Chief Operations Officer of Infectious Disease Division and Chief Scientific Officer of NewLink Genetics Corporation

Distinguished Lecturer:
Michael Diamond, Professor in the Departments of Medicine, Molecular Microbiology, Pathology & Immunology and the Associate Director of the Center for Human Immunology and Immunotherapy Programs at Washington University School of Medicine.

Poster Exhibition:
Attendees are invited to submit an abstract for the poster exhibition online via the online registration form.

Deadline for abstract submission for the poster session is June 16, 2017. Conference organizers will provide email notification of acceptance.

Freestanding display boards will be available. Posters should be formatted to fit into an area of 67 inches wide x 45 high including the heading.

Rocky Mountain Laboratories is at 903 South 4th Hamilton, Montana 59840. Please allow 20 minutes for arrival and check-in at RML. A current photo ID is required for security check-in at the RML Visitor’s Center.
