Verde Valley Birding & Nature Festival 2020

Threatened & Endangered

Field trips led by experienced guides in beautiful central Arizona's diverse habitats. Guided walks and workshops, vendors and exhibitors along with special events round out this four day event. New field trips are added each year to the schedule of old favorites. Keynote program features Rick Bonney, Public Engagement in Science Program, Cornell Lab of Ornithology.

Join us as we "Bird the Verde".

For a concise overview of trips and workshops in table format you can use our "Printable Pages" Tab. Or you may visit the festival website.

Lunches/Breakfast Burritos - you have an option to purchase or bring your own food on trips that require a meal. Lunches and Breakfast Burritos are $7 if you choose to order one. This requires two steps.

1. At the bottom of the page where you select your sessions, there are boxes to select to pay for your order.

2. If you are on a trip that requires a lunch, on the next page of registration you will choose your type of sandwich, or you will select "I will bring my own."

Water - We encourage you to bring your own water bottle and will have a station with filtered water for you to use to re-fill your bottle as needed. One of our registration gifts this year will be a stainless steel water bottle. Each van will have some extra bottles full of water on it for those that need more water or forgot their bottle that morning.

Food Trucks at the Welcome SocialCome enjoy a sip of wine, meet some guides, and walk through the main tent. This year, bring some cash and stay for dinner with one of our local food trucks.

Lunch & Listen - These are one hour workshop presentations as opposed the two hour "Lunch and Learn." You can bring your own lunch, purchase one through us, or eat lunch at a different time.

Accessibility - While we have always worked with individuals that have accessibility issues, we are making an effort to be more clear in our descriptions. Every individual has different challenges and strengths, we highly encourage you to call Jeri Higgins to work out your schedule.

The Mission  & Vision Statements for the Festival:

The Verde Valley Birding and Nature Festival engages birders, photographers, and nature lovers by providing quality guided birding experiences and workshops across Northern Arizona.

We envision a festival that celebrates an appreciation of a broad spectrum of resident and migratory birds and wildlife in their natural habitats while encouraging stewardship of the unique ecosystem created by the Verde River and its tributaries.
