VETiS: Addressing Dyslexia and Specific Learning Disorders in the classroom

This workshop is currently fully booked. You can add your name to the waitlist by clicking the register button and entering your details. Waitlist members will be contacted only in the event that a place becomes available.

Education seeks to make learning opportunities accessible to all who want to extend their skills and knowledge. Learners who have Specific Learning Disorders (SLD) who often gravitate to VET courses pose a challenge for teachers in working out how to create learning opportunities that respond to their distinctive learning capabilities.

In this workshop deepen your understanding of SLD, learn strategies to identify SLD, and acquaint yourself with effective teaching and learning strategies. A valuable take away from the workshop is a set of principles for modifying a class for students with SLD.

Audience:  This session is relevant to staff from government schools, Catholic schools and independent schools.

Cost: Fully funded for secondary school staff

Topics covered include:

  -   Understanding what Specific Learning Disorders are

  -   Know the signs - Strategies to identify SLD
