VETiS: Unpacking units of competency - from unit to VETiS delivery

Learn how to unpack and interpret units of competency. This full day workshop session will guide you through training packages, show how to unpack a unit of competency and interpret its requirements in order to design a compliant delivery program.

This workshop supports confident planning of 2017 VETiS delivery and is an excellent opportunity for teachers working in VETiS for the first time in 2017 to learn about VET.

Audience:  This session is relevant to staff from government schools, Catholic schools and independent schools.

Cost: Fully funded for secondary school staff

  -   Where to start - a vision of the job role and the person who will fill it

  -   Exploring delivery options that give participants the best chance to prepare for the ideal job role

  -   Unwrapping a unit of competency to ensure quality training and assessment

  -   Resource implications - time and cost and its influence on quality outcomes

  -   When and how to engage industry

  -   Tips to avoid over assessing or under assessing

  -   Why the performance criteria is not a checklist for assessment
