Based on the 12 competency areas outlined in the National Career Development Association (NCDA) Career Development Facilitator curriculum, the Virginia Career Coach Certification program provides coaches at Virginia’s community colleges with the frameworks and tools needed for effective career coaching. The program consists of 10 hours of face-to-face training, split into two 5-hour parts, and 30 hours of online modules. Hours earned through VCCC count toward the requirements of the Career Development Facilitator (CDF) course and the Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) certification offered by VCCS.
To meet the requirements for 10 hours of face-to-face training, coaches, supervisors, and staff should register for a training session from Part 1 and a session from Part 2 from the following list. You do not have to take them in order; however, you must complete both parts in order to meet the 10-hour requirement.
All training sessions will be held at VCCS on the first floor of the Arboretum in Richmond. Because of the flexibility of the schedule, no make-up sessions will be offered.
To register for the online training modules, visit the World Education website.
