Lead by Aaron Lampman, associate professor of anthropology, this trip highlights cultural and educational exploration of the Ancient Puebloans (Anasazi) at some of the premier archaeological ruin sites in North America. Chaco canyon, which is incredibly remote, was the ceremonial and spiritual center for people of the Ancient Puebloan times. Mesa Verde is a spectacular gem with hundreds of cliff dwelling ruins scattered through a series of mountain canyons.
Travelers will be immersed in some of the most important art galleries and installations in the U.S. while visiting the first capital city of North America - Santa Fe. In addition to touring the unique and beautiful architecture of the city, we will have private tours of the Museum of contemporary Native American Arts and Canyon Road - a mile of art galleries featuring the best arts in the American Southwest. Meow Wolf, which we will visit, is arguably the hottest art installation in America right now!
The final stage of the trip centers on the Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. Nearly a million people visit this festival each year to view early morning and twilight glow shows as 500+ balloons take to the skies.

Coronavirus Policy
The Coronoavirus COVID-19 creates a special concern for people who are considering travel. We understand and agree with this concern about the dangers of the virus and the uncertainty it creates. We assure you that we do not want to travel during a period of active concern. The trip leaders will be paying close attention to all U.S. State Department and CDC travel alerts about the virus. It is our hope that the virus will have run its course prior to the start of our trip (or that a vaccine will have been distributed).
We have revised our cancellation policy to reflect the uncertainty created by the virus. On July 27th (more than 60 days before the start of the trip), the group leaders will announce whether the trip can move forward. Individual clients have the right, for any reason, to cancel with a full deposit refund until 11:59pm, July 31. After that, deposits will be non-refundable due to the cancellation policies of our providers in the Southwest.
· Individual cancellations before 11:59pm, July 31st are fully refundable.
· Individual cancellations after 11:59pm on July 31st and before August 14th will result in the forfeiture of the $1500 deposit.
· Individual cancellations on or after August 14th by individuals will result in forfeiture of the entire fee, less any amounts that are recoverable from suppliers and vendors.
· In the event that Ashé Tours or Washington College determines the entire trip must be cancelled on or after August 1st, Washington College will refund the entire deposit, less any amounts that are non-recoverable from vendors and suppliers.
· Ashé Tours and Washington College are not responsible for any individual losses related to airfare or accommodations secured by individuals before or after the published dates of the trip.
Participants are urged to protect their investments by purchasing “cancel for any reason” travel insurance immediately after making their initial deposit for the trip. “Cancel for any reason” travel insurance needs to be purchased very soon after the initial deposit on any travel in order to be effective.
