Matt Blakiston and Craig Hallam address current UK regulation surrounding residential property, highlighting the risks trustees should be aware of, both in relation to commercially-let property and to beneficiary-occupied property. Matt Blakiston,Salamanca Group
Matthew is the senior Property Consultant within Salamanca’s Private Client Services office and is responsible for managing a number of key relationships. Matthew’s main roles are to ensure that Private Client Services maintains its record of excellent client service, together with helping private and corporate clients alike by advising in the following areas: property acquisition, discreet property sales and portfolio management including private residence management and commercially let property management.
Previously, Matthew has advised UHNW families and individuals on immigration and managed large scale relocations to the UK. Before joining Salamanca Group, Matthew served for seven years in the British Army where he held a variety of roles on active operations including; reconnaissance, intelligence work, UK government briefing, logistics & deployments as well as attachment to a Middle Eastern Special Forces regiment. Matthew has a BA with Honours degree from Newcastle University.
Craig Hallam, Salamanca Group
Craig Hallam is the Head of Property Services at Salamanca Group within the Private Client Services business unit. Craig is responsible for the operational delivery and relationship management for property related services delivered across the Group. Prior to joining Salamanca, he was Business Development Director for LSL Property Services and responsible for development of Corporate Relationships.
He previously worked as Business Development Director for Hometrack from 2007, a leading data provider in the residential property market, and in 2002 was Property Director for Clearsprings Management, a private sector housing organisation. Craig’s career has spanned the full life-cycle of property ownership from feasibility studies, acquisition, lettings, management, sales, survey and valuation. Having been directly responsible for the acquisition, management or sale of properties in excess of £5bn, Craig specialises in advising clients with high value property holdings, overseas owners and corporate institutions on investment strategy.
