Alarms are set in order to provide
notification to caregivers that a patient condition is changing. Standardized protocol, parameters, and
caregiver culture regarding safe alarm use is inherent to meet the National Patient
Safety Goal. Serious safety events have occurred with patient injury as a
result of inconsistent physiological alarm use standards. This webinar will
describe best practice recommendations for facility preparation and training to
assure a unified, high-level alarm safety plan.
