Although antibiotics offer significant benefits to patients in combating pathogens, they are increasingly becoming less effective, resulting in a population that is vulnerable to infections. It is imperative that prescribers practice good stewardship with antibiotics in order to optimize the benefits of antibiotics. Recent studies by the CDC demonstrate that at least 50% of antibiotics contain an error in prescribing and at least 30% were unnecessary. Please join Dr. Sarah Kabbani as she discusses the current state of the antibiotic resistance crisis, future efforts to reduce multi-resistant organisms and what you can do right now to help improve the use of antibiotics.
