As the diversity of the United States continues to grow, the healthcare community will increasingly encounter patients with diverse languages and cultures. A strong link exists between a person’s culture and the perception of health problems, the meaning and understanding of health problems, the communication of health problems, and ultimately health outcomes. The focus of this most interesting webinar is the importance and the incorporation of health literacy as a component in cultural and linguistic proficiency in the delivery of patient-centered care to a diverse population.
