Today homeowners and agencies understand the best tree care comes from trained and knowledgeable arborists. The green industry has responded to this demand for trained professionals by creating certification programs.
The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certifies thousands of arborists and Pennsylvania Landscape & Nursery Association certifies horticulturalists. These numbers grow each year.
The Arborist Short Course has competent instructors presenting topics designed to increase your working tree knowledge, professional skills, and to prepare you for the ISA Certified Arborist exam. You can expect to learn about:
- Diagnosis of plant diseases and insect pests
- Nutrition and fertilization
- Selection, installation, and establishment
- of trees and shrubs
- Soil and water interaction and management
- Plant identification
- Assessment and risk management
- Pruning
- Construction impacts and management
