If you just started your career as a dental assistant or you have been thinking that you might like to become a DA, this course is designed for you. This class is an overview of what it is like working in a dental office. It will include dental equipment, the treatment operatory, standard instruments that are used in a general practice, dental terminology, as well as an introduction to various basic procedures and a brief overview of front desk skills.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Learn the basic operations at a front desk and how to perform them properly
  • Understand dental equipment used in each treatment room
  • Become familiar with basic dental instrumentation
  • Discuss basic dental procedures performed in general dentistry and their correct sequence
  • Learn dental terminology including an introduction to dental charting
