We Have Your Back (WHYB) is an FHA initiative focused on assisting hospitals and health systems align the organization’s culture of safety to include worker safety with patient safety and quality. The primary goal of We Have Your Back is to promote a safe work environment and prevent workforce illness. We Have Your Back provides education, tools and resources providing evidence-based worker safety strategies that can help hospitals implement the program’s purpose.
One area of focus identified in the WHYB initiative is workplace violence prevention, response and recovery. WHYB is pleased to work with the Center for Aggression Management to offer the Critical Aggression Prevention System (CAPS) one-day training course.
This training offers hospital personnel a scientifically-validated method to reliably prevent violence and bullying. The ability to prevent violence is predicated on identifying a person who is on a pathway to violence. Attendees will learn the Center’s scientifically-validated “path to violence,” which illustrates the precursors to violence and bullying.
John D. Byrnes, founder and CEO of the Center for Aggression Management has developed the means to identify, measure and manage aggression in others and ourselves before bullying and violence occurs so they can be reliably prevented.
At the conclusion of this presentation, attendees will be able to:
Identify the emergence of aggression
Measure aggression in others and in ourselves
Manage aggression in others and in ourselves
Prevent aggression, bullying and violence
