Program Overview

The Wilmot Cancer Institute is providing a day-long symposium to address issues that cancer survivors face such as stresssexpower and money. Providing appropriate referrals and resources will be key in assisting patients to assess and vocalize their individual needs. At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe some of the adverse health outcomes after treatment with chemotherapy, radiation therapy, hormone therapy and surgery impacting sexual health.
  • Identify  types of functional and psycho-social issues after cancer treatment  and how  they can vary for each cancer survivor  specifically in  the  areas of anxiety, sex/intimacy, returning to  work  and financial implications of cancer treatment.
  • Identify ways to build resilience and self-advocacy related to the cancer journey,
