As transit agencies begin to develop recovery plans from the combined impacts of the pandemic, the recession, and the civil unrest in Urban environments; most agencies are grappling with the reality that there is a new ‘normal’ with reduced revenues and ridership, mode shift to personal vehicles, and expansion of micro mobility services. Transit agencies are required to do more with less funding, improve operations and increase service frequency, and begin transformation from analogue focus on vehicle movement to digital provider of mobility services.
The Wireless Communications in Transit Virtual Conference 2020 is being organised on July 21-22, 2020 with aim to understand the current relevance and future potential of wireless technology deployment in transit. It will explore issues concerning regulatory guidance; planning, funding and procurement; the available solutions; and best practices.It is our fifth edition of the Wireless Communications in Transit Conference which has been organized annually at the Willard InterContinental in Washington, D.C.
