Frequently Asked Questions:
I found a lower rate on a website for one of WD's contracted hotels. What do I do? By all means, book it! We just ask that you please make the reservation in the name of the registered conference attendee and then send an email to amahoney@womendeliver.org to let us know. Generally, it is rare that lower rate rooms are available but if you can find it, we encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity. Unfortunately since there are very few of these lower-priced rooms available, the hotels will not offer us a contract with this pricing.
Many of the hotels contracted by Women Deliver include a clause stating that the hotel cannot offer a lower rate over the dates of the Women Deliver 3rd Global Conference to anyone other than airlines, government, long-term corporate contracts, discount travel sites like HotWire or Priceline where you place a bid and the hotel is unknown until after the bid is accepted, or on package deals that include airline or car rental, without offering it to our attendees.
How does WD select the hotels it contracts? We review various factors such as the hotel's proximity to the Conference site, rates and types of available sleeping rooms, overall quality of the hotel property, and willingness to offer suitable contract terms. WD has worked diligenty to ensure that we can offer suitable options at various price points for our conference attendees.
What if I can't afford to stay at the more expensive hotels? WD has contracted with the above listed KL area hotels to accommodate a wide range of discounted rates for our attendees. Please keep in mind that the less expensive hotels tend to sell out first so we urge you to make your reservations early to ensure that you have the option of reserving a your preferred price point.
Why can't WD add more rooms to the less expensive hotels? Unfortunately, many hotels will not offer more than a certain percentage of their rooms to group blocks and because WD has negotiated discounted rates, hotels often do not want to commit all of their rooms at that lower pricing. Some hotels also have other contracts (government, airline, corporate) to fulfill. |
