The Women in Agribusiness Mentorship Program is an online network of women committed to helping each other succeed in their professional and personal development through mentoring, networking, sharing of resources and candid discussion. The Mentorship Program will enable participants to identify and nurture women’s potential in our industry at all levels. Any woman in the agribusiness community can join as a mentor, mentee or both mentor and mentee.
Membership is available to and can benefit all women in agribusiness, including:
- Motivated business, career and entrepreneurial women
- Women looking for a career or life change
- Young professional women who seek career guidance
- Women in executive and leadership roles who seek peer mentorship outside of their own company
- Women who don't have access to a mentoring program through their place of employment
- Women in male-dominated companies
- Unemployed women and students
- Women returning to the workforce
The Women in Agribusiness Mentorship Program will inspire and promote qualified women to enter and be retained in our industry, and thereby contribute to workforce diversity and ultimately improve the competitiveness of the agribusiness for which they work. Good mentors are a very significant contributor to building a successful career. Effective mentoring depends on selection of a mentor with a positive attitude who can be a trusted advisor and good listener.
Mentors and mentees can sign up by completing a short profile here for free: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WIAMentorshipProgram. We will pair you up with someone in a similar industry or with similar interests as yours as best that we can. We will introduce you online and your relationship will develop and hopefully flourish off line from there.
One final note: Remember that we also invite mentor companies to provide Student Scholarships in order to sponsor students to attend our Women in Agribusiness events during the course of the year. During the events, we set aside some time for mentors/mentees to develop their relationships and for those not yet involved with the program to learn more about it. If you are interested in sponsoring a student for the next Women in Agribusiness event, please contact Sarah Clark.
