Working and Living in Switzerland | What do I have to know?
Besides the classic employment nowadays, there are various options on how a working relationship is structured. With over 25% of the Swiss population being non-Swiss, foreign work force is just natural.
What does this mean from the legal and tax standpoints? And what about the integration aspects?
Join the BSCC for breakfast and get advice from experts at BDO. Please choose two of the topics that interest you the most – you can select which session you would like during registration. We will do our best to guarantee your sessions but this will be on a first come first served basis.
1 - When a company is looking to fill a job vacancy, hiring an employee is just one of the many options. But what are the alternative contractual relationships and their pros and cons from a legal perspective?
2 - When someone is seeking work, it is not necessary to find an employer. One can be a freelancer too. But what are the trade offs from a tax and social security point of view for being one's own boss?
3 - What are the implications of the bilateral agreement between Switzerland and the European Union and the anti-mass immigration initiative? When and for which activities is a Swiss work- and residence permit required?
4 - What should the growing foreign work force know when they settle in Switzerland. With a little patience and knowing of some rules and habits they can experience quickly our beautiful country and feel at home soon.
