Working with Staff and Residents in Culturally Competent Ways (C)


This course will help participants gain an understanding of biases, and develop skills and strategies for working skillfully with people from various cultures and ethnicities. Skills to promote cultural competence will be enhanced through an understanding of best practices. Participants will learn how to recognize the impact of language in the development of mutually respectful relationships and how diversity and oppression affect cultural competence. Through lecture, presentations, dialogues, interaction, and role-play, this training will help strengthen individual, interpersonal, and organizational cultural competence.
