The collective process of writing a self-study provides program faculty with the opportunity to conduct a self-assessment of program strengths and areas for further development. This session will provide participants with strategies and tips to write an organized and concise self-study that is focused on addressing the NLN CNEA Standards of Accreditation. Emphasis will be placed on ways to describe program outcomes and continuous quality improvement efforts that are aligned with NLN CNEA accreditation standards.

  • Identify the steps of the NLN CNEA accreditation process
  • Describe the role of the self-study report and three purposes associated with the role
  • Describe the format and elements of the self-study report
  • Analyze ways by which to document program compliance with the NLN CNEA accreditation standards when preparing the self-study report
  • Describe strategies used to engage faculty and staff in the preparation of the self-study report
