Yale Explores...The 21st Century City and Society

This event has been cancelled. If you have any questions, please contact the event planner directly.

Yale Explores: The 21st Century City and Society at the British Museum in London, scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 2020 has been cancelled due to concerns related to the COVID-19 global health crisis. Please email Elisabeth Alden at elisabeth.alden@yale.edu with any questions or concerns.

We invite you to join fellow alumni, parents, and friends for an evening of connection and engagement at Yale Explores, a series designed to bring together the Yale community and offer a cross-disciplinary exploration of the challenges facing our world.

Between now and 2050, the world’s urban population will grow by an estimated 2.5 billion, constituting 66 percent of the world’s population. The successful management of such unprecedented growth requires an examination of the political institutions, economic and social relations, physical landscapes, and cultural frameworks that make up a city.
Sound urban development and public policy strategies will play a crucial role in protecting the world’s ecosystems, improving human health, mitigating the effects of climate change, fostering growth and innovation, reducing economic inequality, and providing essential public services in a fiscally responsible manner.
Join us for Yale Explores: The 21st City and Society as three of Yale’s stellar faculty members explore this topic from a variety of disciplines.

Before and after the presentation, join your fellow alumni, parents, and friends for food, drinks, and networking. We hope to see you there!

Event co-sponsored by BOLD Alumni at YaleYale Alumni Association, and Yale Club of London.
