At Young Entrepreneurs Business Week, we educate and inspire business leaders—as we build the next generation, we better ourselves. One week with YEBW will change your life...
As an Advisor, you have an opportunity to mentor youth and make a meaningful impact on the business community in Oregon. YEBW is designed to help students grow personally and professionally; don’t be surprised if you also walk away from the week feeling uplifted, inspired and re-ignited…
Together, our team of Advisors, Interns and Staff will collaborate to put on life-changing programs for 500 students at YEBW 2017.
What started out as a small business education nonprofit has, 10 years later, become a statewide initiative to improve education and economic opportunities for all Oregon youth. Launched for entrepreneurs by entrepreneurs in 2006, YEBW has always been a volunteer-led program... Business community leaders are key to YEBW's growth.
YEBW is on target to reach 1,000 students from 36 Oregon counties at five university campuses by 2020. YEBW can't serve more students without qualified, dedicated volunteer Advisors like you.
YEBW empowers students to explore business through hands-on experiential learning. Students run their own mock companies and develop original product ideas into business plans—with guidance and coaching from real entrepreneurs, executives and business professionals. Students stay and study at one of three college campuses: University of Portland (UP), University of Oregon (UO) or Oregon State University (OSU).
At YEBW, students participate in interactive activities, teambuilding exercises, inspiring business seminars and other events. We help them practice networking, etiquette and job interviews, while they explore industries, career paths and colleges. In the process, they develop life-long skills in leadership, teamwork, public speaking and more.
Past Advisors say they gain just as much from the program as the students.

Spend one week on a college campus. Stay in a dorm and experience YEBW from Saturday to Saturday. Your room and board is covered by YEBW.
The program runs Sunday to Saturday. YEBW training, teambuilding and dorm move-in takes place the Saturday before.
There are three key things we look for: Enjoy working with youth; embody a passion for business; and exemplify appropriate professionalism.
Advisors are typically mid-level or senior-level managers, executives, small business owners or independent agents. Emerging professionals and retirees alike excel in this role. A background in entrepreneurship, operations, finance, marketing, project management or human resources is helpful, but not required.
This role is ideal for professionals who possess strong leadership, communication, listening, moderation and teambuilding skills. Beyond business savvy, YEBW values enthusiasm, discretion, patience, compassion and an inclusive disposition.
