We will be launching our 2017 Competition, based around witness conferencing. This year, entrants are asked to draft a procedural order and accompanying notes setting out the procedure for the taking of factual and expert witness evidence in a fictional scenario. The papers will be released this week. A winner and two runners up will win cash prizes. In addition the winner will be invited to join the CIArb (Singapore branch) Sub-Committee on Witness Conferencing in International Arbitration chaired by Michael Lee. The competition is open to all persons aged 40 or under. We hope that whether you are in private practice, working in-house, working in other professional firms or are otherwise interested in arbitration, you will submit an entry.

We also ask you to mark your diaries for the Members' Night, which will take place on 24 November 2017 – more details to follow!

The next event in our line-up for this year will be a talk on adjustments for accelerated receipt in loss calculations by Iain Potter of MDD on 4 October 2017. This will be an interesting and practical session for legal and expert practitioners.
