For many, Athens is a city rich with history, culture, and significance. Those visiting the Greek capital are in awe of its signature attractions like the Acropolis and the Daphni Monastery, and neighborhoods like Monastiraki, Plaka and Thissio. The city is easily reachable by air and rail. The Athens International Airport, Eleftherios Venizelos, is the city's principal gateway, served by many major and budget airlines as well as high-season charters.
Chief among meeting venues in Athens is the Megaron Athens International Conference Centre, which offers 143,000 square meters of total event space, 18 meeting spaces, expansive exhibitions areas and sweeping foyers. MICE hotels in Athens include the 506-room Hilton Athens, which has 6,000 square meters of event space including 23 meeting rooms; Hotel Grande Bretagne, which has 1,100 square meters of total function space; and the 102-room King George, which has 5 meeting rooms and a maximum capacity to host 450 people.
Historical meeting venues in Athens include the Museum of Cycladic Art, which has the Stathatos Mansion for hosting gala dinners, the Cycladic Café, and a foyer for cocktails and buffet, and an auditorium and private gallery for presentations, workshops, and corporate dinners. Trendy meeting venues include the B & M Theocharakis Foundation for the Fine Arts Music, which has an auditorium, a lobby, a café, and a roof garden for hosting various events, the Helexpo, a multipurpose facility next to the Olympic Sport Center 2004 that hosts trade shows, exhibitions, and corporate events, and the Onassis Cultural Centre, which has 18,000 square meters of internal floor space.

Athens Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport (ATH)
The Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport is situated about 27 kilometers east of Athens in the suburb of Spata. The airport is served by 67 operating carriers and 17 low-cost carriers that fly to 118 destinations. Athens airport offers direct flights to numerous domestic and international destinations, including connections to other European cities. The airport has many modern facilities for its passengers, including 24-hour luggage storage in the arrivals hall, a children's playroom and a small archaeological museum. Visitors can take Metro Line 3, Aghia Marina - Athens International Airport, or travel on the Suburban Rail network to go from Athens airport to city center. Four OSY buses also directly connect the airport to Athens bus station.
