Named for Perimeter Mall and the area surrounding it, Perimeter Center is in metro Atlanta, northeast of Atlanta within the relatively new cities of Dunwoody and Sandy Springs. As well as a shopping Mecca, it is also the epicenter of one of the Southeast's largest Fortune 500 company business districts, the residents of which keep Perimeter Center meeting venues busy.
Close to interstate access points for GA 400, I-285 and I-85, Perimeter Center's appeal is that it's outside of, yet provides easy access to, downtown Atlanta. Just 10 minutes from downtown Atlanta and 30 minutes from Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Perimeter Center also has three MARTA stations as well as a robust network of sidewalks connecting Perimeter Mall and adjacent restaurants and businesses.
With its shopping (Perimeter Mall features more than 200 retail shops), hotels and restaurants, Perimeter Center attracts a mix of groups that are looking for convenience (free parking is a big draw) and affordability. Planners can expect to find top-name accommodations, including the 495-room Crowne Plaza, with 35,000 square feet of meeting space; the 371-room Westin, with 20,000 square feet of meeting space; the 400-room Marriott, with 15,000 square feet of meeting space; and the 275-room W, with 10,000 square feet of meeting space.
Popular venues in Perimeter Center are plentiful. The historic Villa Christina at Perimeter Summit, on expansive manicured grounds, has 20,000 square feet of flexible space, two ballrooms that can be broken down into four meeting rooms, a restaurant with award-winning chefs, bar, two private dining rooms, exhibition kitchen, outdoor pavilion and a nine-hole putting green. The more contemporary Retreat at Dunwoody features a light-filled atrium with floor-to-ceiling windows that hosts up to 1,000, and a private dining room. The Pavilion of Dunwoody features a 7,000-square-foot ballroom that accommodates up to 425, a patio and two meeting rooms. Heritage Sandy Springs, just outside Perimeter Center on Roswell Road, offers 14,000 square feet of meeting space.
Dining venues in Perimeter Center abound, helping to distinguish it as a premier dining spot. Six signature restaurants are within Perimeter Mall; one of the area's institutions is McKendrick's Steak House, considered one of the best in Atlanta and offering groups two private dining rooms.
