The Merchant Hotel is the only AA 5 Red Star hotel in Northern Ireland and is situated in the heart of Belfast city’s historic Cathedral Quarter within walking distance to the main shops, bars, restaurants and visitor experiences. Formerly the HQ of the Ulster Bank, this part Grade A listed property was sensitively restored to it's original splendour and is now a harmonious blend of Victorian grandeur and Art Deco inspired sleek modernity, it is quite unlike anything currently available in Belfast with a multitude of exciting amenities. The Great Room Restaurant, located in the original banking hall is the jewel in the crown of the hotel, it is home to our fine dining 2AA Rosette restaurant and where guests enjoy breakfast. Bert's Bar is Belfast’s only dedicated jazz bar with a French bistro style menu. The Cloth Ear is our comfortable, cosy pub.
