Copley Square

Park
1 block away
One of the scenic gems located in the heart of the city, Copley Square stands apart as one of the must-see locations when visiting Boston. Named for the painter John Singleton Copley, the square is surrounded by three of the city's most architecturally beautiful buildings: Trinity Church, The Fairmont Copley Plaza, and the Boston Public Library.

Boston Common

Park
4 blocks away
Across Charles Street from the Public Garden, the Boston Common marks the official start of the Freedom Trail. It is the oldest park in the country, and spans almost 50 acres in size. With the city of Boston having so much history throughout it, the Boston Common is no exception. British troops camped on Boston Common prior to the Revolution and left from here to face colonial resistance at Lexington and Concord in April, 1775. Many might know of Boston Common’s greatest attraction, the Frog Pond. Throughout the year, the Frog Pond transforms to reflect the season. In the summer months, young kids flock from all over to cool off from Boston’s grueling temperatures. Parents can look on as their children splash around while enjoying one of the delicious picnic lunches that the in-room dining team carefully prepares at The Fairmont Copley Plaza. In the winter, people enjoy the Pond as an enchanting place to ice skate. No matter what the season or occasion, the Boston Common is a great place to visit!

Back Bay Shopping

Shopping
1 block away
The Fairmont Copley Plaza is located within a one block radius of three of New England's premier shopping destinations. Newbury Street, Boston's Rodeo Drive, offering fine dining, art galleries, designer boutiques and sidewalk cafés. Copley Place with 75 fabulous stores including Neiman Marcus, Barneys New York, Tiffany & Co., Jimmy Choo, Salvatore Ferragamo, David Yurman, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and Burberry. The Shops at Prudential featuring over 75 shops including Ann Taylor, Lacoste, Lord & Taylor, and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Hynes Convention Center

Convention center
4 blocks away
Four short blocks from the Fairmont Copley Plaza is the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center. Outside the Hynes the streets of Boston's Back Bay bustle with activity. Inside you'll find superior facilities, a user-friendly layout, plus state-of-the-art amenities and service. Large enough for conferences, trade shows, and conventions, the Hynes also offers distinctive, easily configurable spaces that add a flair to executive functions, receptions, training sessions, and other small-scale events. And the Hynes also offers something no other convention center can: an intimate urban setting in one of the most desirable tourist destinations in the world.

The Museum of Fine Arts

Museum
1 mi. away
The original MFA opened its doors to the public on July 4, 1876, the nation's centennial. Built in Copley Square, the MFA was then home to 5,600 works of art. Over the next several years, the collection and number of visitors grew exponentially, and in 1909 the Museum moved to its current home on Huntington Avenue.

Boston Public Gardens

Park
2 blocks away
Explore Boston Public Garden and discover a picturesque park with a rich history and plentiful landscapes. During the warmer seasons, the four acre pond located in the Boston Public Gardens is usually the home of one or more swans and is always the site of the Swan Boats - one of the city’s most famous tourist attractions. For a small fee, tourists can be pedaled around the peaceful lake by a tour guide. The Boston Public Garden is also home to several iconic statues. A family favorite is the set of bronze statues based on the main characters from the children’s story Make Way for Ducklings, which is located between the pond and the Charles and Beacon streets entrance. Take a piece of this memory home with you by picking up a copy of the book in the Fairmont Store!
