For participants flying in from U.S. and international cities, the choice of venues in Boston Logan International Airport – and their proximity to other Boston venues – combines ease with attraction. Logan and its healthy selection of large and mid-size airport hotels process more than 28 million passengers a year. Unlike some hub airports in major cities, though, Logan is surprisingly accessible and easy to navigate, and very close to the city center. Travel time varies but during non-commuter hours, meetings participants staying at one of the major airport hotels can bus into town for dinner, a show or a satellite meeting in under 20 minutes.
The two closest Boston Logan meeting venues are actually on airport property – the 599-room Hilton Boston Logan Airport and the Hyatt Harborside. The Hilton has 30,000 square feet of meeting space and two ballrooms (5,500 and 3,000 square feet); it is a versatile choice with direct access to the terminals. The 270-room Hyatt Harborside is also on airport property, but fronts Boston Harbor. The Hyatt's 22,000 square feet of meeting space is complemented with amenities like professional meeting planner service, free shuttle service into town or to the airport and the hotel's Harborside Grill and Patio restaurant, specializing in local seafood and a panoramic view. Outside the grounds of the airport but within a mile of the airport, meeting choices include the Embassy Suites Boston Logan Airport with 7 executive suites, a ballroom that seats 300 and the Porter Bar and Grill restaurant. One mile north of the airport on McClellan Highway, The Marriott Courtyard Boston Logan Airport caters to smaller meetings with 3 meeting rooms and 1,900 square feet of meeting space.
The closest dining venues to Boston Logan are the restaurants in the Convention District and the Waterfront and South Station. The Waterfront alone offers a wealth of leisure and dining options. Boston's legendary Legal Seafoods restaurant, close to the first stop on the Silver Line shuttle from Boston Logan, has private dining and corporate event space for up to 50 guests. Legal Seafoods has been a family-owned landmark since 1950 and still lives up to its reputation for the freshest fish in town. Meritage, which seats 98 on Rowe's Wharf, is getting rave reviews for its sophisticated wine/food pairings and its 12,000-bottle-strong wine cellar.
Airport hotels are also an under-20-minute-drive to one of Boston's famous landmarks, the Cheers Bar (real name, the Bull and Finch) in Beacon Hill, where everybody might not know your name, but they are very friendly nonetheless.
